Chief Executive Officer, Cherry
During a career spanning over 30 years, Rob has developed a reputation as one of the UK’s foremost experts on risk management, compliance and corporate governance.
Rob’s role as Cherry’s CEO is to lead the senior management team on the development and implementation of strategy and policies. He maintains a strong focus on the effective management of risk, ensuring that the interests of all parties within the supply chain are aligned, with a particular emphasis on the fair treatment of Cherry’s CoBuyers.
Prior to joining Charles Tedstone to establish Cherry, Rob worked in senior roles within major financial institutions dealing with regulatory risk and compliance. He has worked closely with regulators in both the UK and Ireland on regulatory policy, and was part of a small group of industry experts advising the Irish Government on the creation of the regulatory structure established as part of the Central Bank of Ireland.
He has also been a frequent speaker at conferences on regulation and governance and some of the world’s leading fund management groups seek his views on how best to align fund design with the needs of retail investors and their financial advisers.
Critical to his role at Cherry is Rob’s knowledge of financial services regulation and his past experience of implementing the FCA’s Treating Customers Fairly initiative for numerous financial institutions.
Proud father of four, Rob splits his time between Liverpool, Chippenham and London. Rob’s interests outside of work include music and, as a self-confessed workaholic, more work.
